Hydroponic crops

Hydroponic crops

In addition to distinguishing itself for an innovative approach in the traditional production of citrus and apricots, the Tancredi Fruit farm is one of the few in Italy to devote itself to hydroponics, an innovative and specialized type of cultivation that uses modern technologies for the cultivation in the absence of agricultural land.

The Tancredi Fruit farm, which in 2003 started to practice hydroponics, uses mainly the use of an inert substrate, contained in pots or sacks of cultivation, within which the water and nutrients needed for the development of the plants are made through the administration of a nutritive solution managed by a fertigation computer, which allows to check at any time all the parameters of the nutritive solution, such as composition, pH and conductivity, in addition to generating significant water savings .

Thanks to the recycling of the solution drained from hydroponic crops and to reuse in tree crops, Tancredi Fruit is able to achieve significant savings in energy and water, minimize the use of chemicals, respect environmental balances and biodiversity.
